Sri Lanka naval troops attached to SLNS Gajaba of the North Central Naval Command arrested 08 persons with 1,359 kilograms of illegal fish catch along with an FGD and a Wallam engaged in illegal fishing.
The fishing was conducted using explosives in the general area of Kalupalama in Mannar on 25th October 2014.
The arrested persons with illegal fish catch and fishing craft were handed over to the Assistant Director of the Fisheries Department in Mannar for further investigations.
