USS Mount Whitney Joins in American Corners Discussion

Authorities

Sailors assigned to the U.S. 6th Fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) participated in an American Corners open discussion at the Batumi library, Oct. 15.

American Corners is a joint partnership project between the United States and Georgia that was established to provide information about American government, history, and culture. American Corners offers the local community, including students, teachers, and U.S. Peace Corps volunteers, extensive teaching material and clubs to join to learn more about American culture and traditions.

Musician 2nd Class, Antonio Garcia, said:

They were very inquisitive and had great questions that we all enjoyed providing answers to; it was a wonderful experience that allowed us to discuss multiple topics that the students were interested in learning more about.
