HMCS Victoria Awarded Operational Service Medal

The crew of Canadian Navy’s HMCS Victoria received the Operational Service Medal in recognition of their successful two-and-a-half month deployment on Operation CARIBBE in 2013.

This is the first operational medal for HMCS Victoria and the second medal for a submarine while contributing to Op CARIBBE.

Rear-Admiral Bill Truelove, Commander Maritime Forces Pacific, presented the sailors with their medals at a ceremony on Sept. 23, 2014 at CFB Esquimalt.

Operation CARIBBE is the Canadian Armed Forces contribution to Op MARTILLO, a multinational effort dedicated to the detection, monitoring and interdiction of illicit trafficking of drugs, weapons, money and people in the Eastern Pacific and Caribbean Sea.
