USS Roosevelt Departs Duqm, Oman

Guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) departed Duqm, Oman, following a routine port visit, Oct. 5.


The visit gave Sailors an opportunity to experience the culture and hospitality of the host nation.

During the port visit, Sailors were able to enjoy fishing, swimming, local cuisine and relaxation at a nearby resort.

Roosevelt is deployed as part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group supporting maritime security operations, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
