SL Fishing Vessels Stranded Due to Bad Weather

Around 30 to 40 fishing vessels engaged in deep sea fishing are reported stranded due to prevailing bad weather near coasts of Myanmar and Bangladesh.


The Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre (MRCC) based in Colombo, which is manned by the Sri Lanka Navy, has alerted the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centers in Myanmar and Bangladesh about the stranded Sri Lankan fishing boats and requested to render possible assistance.
