USCG Commanding Officer of Activities Europe Temporarily Relieved

The US Coast Guard temporarily relieved Capt. James B. Robertson, commanding officer of Activities Europe, Tuesday due to loss of confidence in his abilities to command.

The executive officer, Cmdr. Erin Williams, has assumed temporary command of Activities Europe. Robertson has been reassigned to Coast Guard Atlantic Area.

Activities Europe was established in 1995 and is located in Schinnen, The Netherlands. The unit is primarily responsible for two vital missions, Marine Inspections and International Port Security. Together these two departments represent the Coast Guard throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
