USS Shiloh Pays Visit to Saipan

The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) arrived in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, Sept. 23 for a scheduled port visit.

The visit will give the crew with an operational break after participating in Valiant Shield, a U.S.-only exercise integrating 18,000 U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, and Marine Corps personnel.

This port call also provides an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Saipan and the U.S. to help maintain a safe maritime environment.

In addition to sight-seeing, the ship plans on participating in community relations events at a local school.

Shiloh is on patrol with the George Washington Strike Group in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
