BRP Ramon Alcaraz Takes Part in Show The Flag Mission

Following its successful participation in Multilateral Naval Exercise Kakadu 2014 in Australia and port visit to Surabaya, Indonesia, BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PF-16) arrived in Zamboanga, Philippines, yesterday for a “Show The Flag” mission which aims to uplift the sense of patriotism and bring national pride to the Filipino citizens in Southern Philippines.

 

The Show the Flag in Zamboanga included activities such as Open House, Thanksgiving Mass, and Courtesy Calls to the Heads of Western Mindanao Command and Naval Forces Western Mindanao, courtesy call to the City Mayor.

During the call to the Mayor, assorted goods and books donated by the Filipino Australian Association in Northern Territory (FAANT) will be handed over by Captain Albert A Mogol, Commander of Naval Task Force 80 and Captain Ernesto O Baldovino, Commanding Officer of Ramon Alcaraz intended for the victims of Zamboanga siege.

The Open House will be available to the people of Zamboanga City where they can go aboard ship for a guided tour by a ship’s crew. The tour will showcase PF16, its armaments and general appendages. The activity aims to promote peace and develop friendly relations among the communities where PF16 will be berthed.
