US Navy Awards USS Virginia-Class Submarine Support Deal

3 Phoenix Inc., Chantilly, Virginia, is being awarded an $8,997,455 modification under a previously awarded contract for continuing engineering services to support software development, procurement of commercial off-the-shelf products, and hardware and software integration.

 

This is required to provide improved technology for U.S. Navy open architecture and Network Centric Operations and Warfare systems in support of USS Virginia-class submarines and other submarine and surface ship systems.

3 Phoenix Inc. shall continue to build upon the previous efforts made under the follow-on Phase III of Small Business Innovative Research, Topic number N04-138 – Real-time Data Fusion and Visualization Interface for Environmental Research Data.

These services will be rendered, as needed, to support the Navy’s initiative to maintain the pace of performance improvement through judicious use of lower power electronics, advanced algorithm design, and innovative applications of open software and hardware.

Work will be performed in Chantilly, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by September 2015.

Fiscal 2014 research, development, test and evaluation contract funds in the amount of $750,000 will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.
