Russian Navy’s New Research Vessel Laid Down

Pella Shipyard held a keel laying ceremony for a new research ship of project 11982 under the order of the Russian Navy on September 12.

The vessel is designed for search and rescue operations, research and oceanographic studies.

It is expected to be delivered to the customer in 2016.

With a speed of approximately 12.0 knots the vessel will be able to carry a crew of 16. The vessel will have a length of 63.8 m, a width of 10.8 m and a draught of about 3.8 m.
