Colombian Navy Seizes 44 Kilos of Cocaine

Colombian Navy managed to seize 44 kilograms of cocaine during their operations of maritime control in the general area of the Gulf of Uraba, near the town of Necoclí – Antioquia.

 

Coast Guard units from the Station Urabá spotted a suspicious vessel named “Sanctuary” and conducted a search which revealed that the vessel did not meet the safety standards required for safe navigation. The vessel was then lead to the dock station where it underwent an in-depth inspection during which the drug were found hidden in the tank bow of the boat.

All nine member of the “Sanctuary” crew were arrested.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Task Force (GROIC) assigned to the Naval Force of the Caribbean, tested the drugs, proving that it was cocaine.
