Nine passengers were successfully rescued by the elements of Philippine Coast Guard from a distressed motor boat in El Nido, Palawan last Friday, August 22.

Lady Chen motor boat reportedly left Brgy. Barunganan, Linapacan, Palawan around 8:00 of the same day but encountered engine trouble three hours later while enroute to Taytay, Palawan.

Upon receipt of report, the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) El Nido organized a SAR team and searched for the distressed boat onboard AB-064. The team spotted the boat between Apulit Island Resort and Talakanin Island in Taytay, Palawan around 11:30AM and towed it to the nearest shore.

All passengers were in good physical condition.

The passengers were properly turned-over to Rescue 165 for immediate medication.
