USS Dewey Command Master Chief Relieved

USS Dewey (DDG 105)

The command master chief of USS Dewey (DDG 105), Master Chief Petty Officer Joe Grgetich, was relieved of his duties Aug. 21 by the commodore of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 1, Capt. Lyle Stuffle, due to his loss of confidence in Grgetich’s ability to fulfill his role as the command master chief.

 

Senior Chief Petty Officer Katy Willdigg, a Sailor stationed aboard the ship, will serve as acting senior enlisted leader until a relief can report to the ship.

An Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, Dewey is based in San Diego.
