Sri Lanka Navy Rescues 2 Fishermen

Sri Lanka naval patrol craft P 474 attached to the Western Naval Command rescued 2 fishermen stranded in the rough seas off Bambalapitiya due to prevailing bad weather condition on 22nd August 2014.

Their fishing boat had become non-operational due to an engine defect.

The Navy was informed of the incident by the Disaster Management Center. Accordingly under the direction of Naval Headquarters, the Western Naval Command dispatched P 474 to the rescue mission.
