HMS Plymouth Embarks on Its Final Journey

The Royal UK Navy frigate HMS Plymouth departed its home port for the last time yesterday heading toward a foreign port where it will be scrapped.

After a quarter of a century long fight to save the warship, Peel Ports, owner of Vittoria Dock in Birkenhead where HMS Plymouth was docked for years, said their only “practical choice” was to discard the vessel.

HMS Plymouth is thought to be heading for a port in Turkey where it will be scrapped.

According to BBC News, campaigners attempted to launch a legal action to prevent the ship from leaving.
