Colombian Navy Locates 29 Illegal Migrants

The Colombian Navy found 29 illegal immigrants from Asia in two places in the Chocó coast during the development of search operations and area control in the Colombian Pacific.

The first group of 12 foreigners was found by troops of the Marine Infantry Brigade No.2 near the village Arusí in rural Nuquí, Chocó. The subjects are between 29 and 42 years old. Eight of them are from Nepal and four from Bhutan.

Another group of 17 men were located on the beach of the township Panguí. Seven of them are from Nepal, six from Bangladesh and four from India. Their ages range from 19 to 35.

The 29 illegal immigrants were transferred to naval Bahia Solano facilities and were turned over to the Colombian Immigration authority.
