Sri Lanka Navy Arrests 50 Fishermen

Naval Craft attached to the Northern Naval Command on routine patrol arrested 50 Indian fishermen and 7 Indian fishing trawlers poaching well within Sri Lankan waters North of Point Pedro (PPD) and Kovilam bay area on 28th July 2014.

 

The arrested fishermen were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Kankasanthurai for legal proceedings.
