Indian Coast Guard Repatriates 41 Sri Lanka Fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy facilitated the repatriation of 41 Sri Lanka fishermen who had been released from the Indian custody.

 

The fishermen along with 8 fishing trawlers were taken over from Indian Coast Guard Ship “Sarang” at the Indo-Sri Lanka International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) North of Kankasanturai on 24th July 2014. Sri Lanka Naval Ship ‘Ranarisi’ and Sri Lanka Coast Guard Ship CG 47 assisted the humanitarian mission.

The fishermen released are residents of Trincomalee and Dondra.
