An E/A-18G Growler from the Shadowhawks of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 141 launches from the flight deck of the U.S. Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73).

 

George Washington and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interest of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

USS George Washington (CVN-73) is a United States Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier (“supercarrier”), the sixth carrier in the Nimitz class and the fourth US Navy ship named after George Washington, the first president of the United States. She was built by Newport News Shipbuilding and was commissioned on 4 July 1992.
