SECNAV Meets with Mexican Secretary of the Navy

Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus met with Mexican Secretary of the Navy, Adm. Vidal Francisco Soberon Sanz, during an office call yesterday at the Pentagon.

 

During the meeting, Mabus and Soberon reaffirmed their enduring partnership, a key relationship for both the United States and Mexico.

Mabus and Soberon also discussed exercises in which U.S. Marines and Mexican marines are participating. These military-to-military engagements are designed to develop skills critical to regional security.

The leaders also addressed the future of their countries’ interactions, discussing several programs and agreements being developed to strengthen inter-service ties and capabilities.

Both leaders said they recognized the importance of continued engagement to enhance interoperability and regional security.
