Electronics Technician 1st Class Mike Allred reunites with his family on the pier following the return of the Virginia-class attack submarine USS North Carolina (SSN 777) to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
The submarine returns after completing a deployment to the western Pacific region where it conducted a variety of operations and theater security exercises contributing to the nation’s strategic posture in the region.
USS North Carolina (SSN-777) is the fourth ship of the United States Navy named for the 12th state. She was commissioned on 3 May 2008.
