Minex Concludes Its Biggest Project with VARD Group

Minex, a Romanian company which specializes in providing integrated solutions for surface treatment, plate and profiles processing, and for related areas, recently completed its biggest ever project in cooperation with VARD Group.

 

The company started collaboration with VARD Group 15 years ago when Tulcea shipyard decided to modernize the existing shot blasting line by acquiring Rutten turbines supplied by the company.

The partnership has continued, and in 2004 Minex provided the necessary equipment for endowing of new blasting and painting halls.

The project consisted of five shot blasting, painting and drying halls, fully equipped (3 halls with dimensions of 44 x 31 x 28 m and 2 halls with dimensions of 41 x 31 x 22 m), which are among the largest builded halls of this kind in Europe.

The total shipyard investment was up to 15 million Euro. During this project VARD Tulcea SA has managed to double its capacity for blasting and painting halls, which has a significant influence in the plan to increase productivity and energy efficiency of the shipyard.

Moreover, the shipyard has decided to continue its collaboration with Minex Romania by contracting washing, drying and painting cabins for its new pipes factory, one of the most modern in Europe. This project includes eight specialized fully equipped cabins with decantation and filtration systems for water treatment, as well as with heat exchangers for heating and ventilation systems.

Another reference project is the project developed with Constanta Shipyard.

The partnership began in 2000, and was focused on endowment with modern machinery and equipment for the blasting and painting sectorand realized the modernization of the automatic blasting and painting lines for plates and profiles, subsequently building two blasting and painting halls (30x24x17.5m), fully equipped with the necessary equipment.
