UK: BMT Signs Community Covenant

BMT Signs Community Covenant

BMT companies working in the defence market, including BMT Defence Services, BMT Hi-Q Sigma and BMT Isis, have further demonstrated their support to the Armed Forces by signing the community covenant with Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The community covenant complements, at a local level, the Armed Forces Covenant and its aim is to encourage local communities to support the Armed Forces community through the participation of events and joint projects which help them to integrate into local life.

The signing took place at the Roman Bathhouse last Friday with local MP, Don Foster as the host.

David Bright, Sector Director (Defence) comments: “As well as taking part in a number of volunteering events for local cadet units, we have over 100 veterans and a number of Armed Forces Reservists working across the group. We recognise the importance of providing the time, help and support to enable those reservists to fulfil their reserve force commitments, including operational deployments. This community offers hugely valuable skills and knowledge to BMT and we will continue to support them and benefit from their experience wherever possible.”
