Commander Task Force 150 Pays Visit to EU NAVFOR Maritime Air Detachments in Djibouti

The Commander of Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Task Force 150 (CTF150) Commodore Jeremy Blunden Royal Navy, visited the EU Naval Force Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) detachments from both Germany and Spain in Djibouti.

 

Commander Stefan Becker, the Commanding Officer of the German MPRA Detachment, and Lieutenant Colonel Jacobo Lecube Porrúa, the Commanding Officer of the Spanish MPRA detachment, provided an overview on the capabilities and equipment of the EU Naval Force MPRA detachments, followed by a guided tour of the German and Spanish aircraft.

Combined Maritime Forces CTF 150 is the 30 nation coalition’s regional Maritime Security operation and is currently led by Commodore Blunden from the UK Royal Navy. Combined Maritime Forces also includes the CFT 151 Counter-Piracy Operation which works very closely with EU Naval Force and NATO’s Operation Ocean Shield to combat piracy off the Coast of Somalia and in the Indian Ocean.
