Irish Naval Vessel Detains Spanish Fishing Vessel

The Irish Naval Service Vessel L.É. NIAMH has detained a Spanish registered fishing vessel approximately 100 nautical miles South of Union Hall, Co Cork.

 

The detention was in relation to an alleged breach of fishing regulations.

This brings to 169 total vessels boarded by the Naval Service in 2014, 17 warnings issued and this is the fourth vessel detained by the Naval Service so far this year.
