UK: HMS Talent Gets Trophy of Excellence

HMS Talent Gets Trophy of Excellence

Vice Admiral Simon Lister CB OBE, Commander in Chief Material, joined the crew of HMS Talent for breakfast during a programmed tour of HMNB Devonport.

The reason for his visit was to present the Submarine the Engineering Excellence Trophy which HMS Talent had been awarded during her recent deployment.

When awarding the trophy Vice Admiral Lister mentioned specifically the efforts of WO2 Greene, CPO(MESM) Hylton, POET(MESM) Barrow, POET(WESM) Bray and LET(MESM) Paull.

Who whilst deployed conducted a difficult repair in challenging circumstances.

He commented, “The award is for the whole team but LET Paull and CPO Hylton merit special recognition for their dedication and resolve in completing the operationally sensitive repair in a timely manner”.

The breakfast afforded the engineers a forum to quiz Admiral Lister on the pending base port move and the future of the Marine Engineering branch.

A thoroughly enjoyable event, the breakfast was enjoyed by all those who attended especially the Marine Engineering branch who felt justifiably proud of their achievement.
