International Warships Dock in China for Multinational Drill

China will host ships from seven countries these days ahead of the exercise “Sea Cooperation 2014″, according to the Times of India.   The Indian Navy’s warship INS Shivalik arrived in one of the 10 busiest ports in the world, the Chinese Port of Qingdao, on Sunday 20th April.

A mission off the coast of South Devon, England has surveyed two U.S. Landing Ship Tanks (LSTs) that were torpedoed and sunk during the D-Day rehearsal Exercise Tiger on April 28, 1944.


French Warship to Enter Black Sea

An F70 type anti-submarine frigate of the French Navy, the Dupleix, will enter the Black Sea this weekend, according to Russian news agency ITAR-TASS.   The frigate will replace the US Navy’s destroyer USS Donald Cook, which is currently positioned in the western part of the Black Sea.


Russian Destroyer Passes near UK

In an example of routine work for the Royal Navy’s Fleet Ready Escort, the ship’s company of HMS Dragon have tracked, and met up with, the Vice Admiral Kulakov – a large Russian destroyer – as it transits past the United Kingdom.  


USS Ramage Welcomes Commander of U.S. 6th Fleet Aboard

The commander of U.S. 6th Fleet visited Sailors aboard guided-missile destroyer USS Ramage (DDG 61), April 17.


USA: XO of Naval Base Coronado Relieved of Duties

The executive officer of Naval Base Coronado in San Diego was relieved of his duties April 18 by Commander, Navy Installations Command.   Vice Adm. William French, commander of Navy Installations Command relieved Capt. Gregory McWherter.
