International Observers Denied Entry to Crimea

International Observers Denied Entry to Crimea

An international group of military observers was denied entry to the Crimean peninsula by individuals who identified themselves as the representatives of Russian Frontier Service and Crimean ‘Berkut’, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry said on Wednesday, April 9.

The group was bound for the peninsula with an aim to observe the preparation of military units and materiel for evacuation.

The reasons behind such a decision were said to be lack of any information about the arrival of this group. As a result, the observers left for Kyiv.

OSCE observers have been denied entry to Crimea on two previous occasions.
