Vigor Industrial LCC has received a contract worth up to USD 6.8 million to conduct mid-term shipyard availability of the US Navy’s replenishment oiler, USNS Gaudalupe, hull number T-AO 200.
The contractor will provide 72,000-hour main engine maintenance, followed by main engine turbocharger overhaul, port shaft brake overhaul, starboard power take-off clutch/coupling overhaul, deck non-skid preservation, roller door replacement, and gypsy winch overhauls.
The ship’s primary mission is to provide fuel to US Navy’s ships at sea and jet fuel to aircraft assigned to aircraft carriers.
Vigor will conduct the works in Portland, Ore. and they are expected to be completed by July 2014.
