“Due to measures taken by authorities, hostages in Crimea are free; we’ll protect all the officers and soldiers,” announced interim President of Ukraine Olexander Turchynov.

 

According to him, General Major Ihor Voronchenko, Deputy Navy Commander, Col. Yuliy Mamchur, Commander of Belbek Brigade, Lt. Col. Dmytro Delyatytsky, Commander of Feodosia Marine Battalion, and his Deputy – Maj. Rostyslav Lomtyev will be soon free and, they could arrive to Kyiv today.

Amid growing number of kidnappings of Ukrainian officials by the Russian troops during storming of Crimea, Ukraine demanded freeing of its military and civilian hostages.

Ukraine assured that it will do everything necessary to enable the release of the hostages, whose number remains unclear.
