General Dynamics NASSCO Gets USS Pearl Harbor Contract Modification

San Diego based General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, has received a USD 62.5 million modification to previously awarded contract for the USS Pearl Harbor’s fiscal 2014 extended dry-dock phased maintenance availability.

 

An extended dry-dock phased maintenance availability includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship’s military and technical capabilities.

USS Pearl Harbor (LSD-52) is a Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship of the United States Navy which was commissioned into the fleet on May 30th, 1998. As of 2005, she is homeported at Naval Station San Diego, California, and assigned to Amphibious Group 5.

The contractor will perform the work, which is expected to be completed by July 2015, in San Diego, Calif.
