In anticipation of the long-awaited arrival home to their loved ones, the crew of HMS Daring, a Type 45 destroyer of the Royal Navy, sent a special Valentine Day’s message from their flight deck.

 

The destroyer is on her way home from a global mission that lasted nine months and is expected to return at the end of February.

Steaming over 38,000 miles, HMS Daring’s tasks included anti-piracy operations in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Aden, tracking ballistic targets in the Pacific Ocean and rendering of humanitarian support to the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Hiayan.
