NATO’s CTF Talks Cooperation with Yemeni Coast Guard

NATO’s Counter Piracy Task Force Commander, Rear Admiral (ESP N) Eugenio Diaz del Rio welcomed a delegation of the Yemeni Coast Guard, lead by the Head of Brigadier General Ahmed Saleh Al-Soubhi on board CTF-508 flagship ESPS ALVARO DE BAZAN on Tuesday, 21 January 2014.

 
The topics of the meeting were regional security issues, ways of strengthening cooperation in combating piracy and future joint training opportunities.

The Yemeni Coast Guard delegation was briefed on the DHOW PROJECT, a project initiated by naval forces operating in the region to better understand maritime activity in the Southern Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean, NATO’s MARCOM Public Affairs Office said in a release.
