The helicopters trained landing aboard the Chinese naval vessels. The vessels, equipped with landing platforms, are currently patrolling the South China Sea.

The Nanhai Fleet flotilla is comprised of three ships, which are amphibious landing craft Changbaishan and two destroyers Wuhan and Haikou.
