Representatives from Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey and the Russian Federation are attending BLACKSEAFOR planning event, which is taking place in Sevastopol, Ukraine.
Rear Admiral Denis Berzovsky, Deputy Commander of Navy of Ukrainian Armed Forces, who is leading a Ukrainian working group, said that the primary goal of the event was to create the document projects for 2014 April BLACKSEAFOR activations, discuss the strengths involved, specify the event schedules, improve Internet resources, and ensure information exchange among the BLACKSEAFOR participants.
“BLACKSEAFOR participants are invited to form additional coast component during the activations and the final discussion will be held during meeting of the Committee of Navy Commanders in the Black Sea, “ the Commander added.
The Ukrainian Navy took command over BLACKSEAFOR last year and will resume command this year as well.
The working sessions will last until 24 January 2014.
