Republic of China Navy Conducts Exercise in Waters off Taiwan
The Republic of China Navy held an anti-submarine exercise in waters off Taiwan on January 14th, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, Watch China Times news portal writes.
Chengkung-class frigates and US-made coastal minehunters participated in the exercise. The Navy dispatched the frigates from Tsoying Naval Base.
The goal of the exercise was to test the ROC Navy’s ability to counter a potential submarine attack by enemy forces.
A previous plan of the Navy to use a real depth charge was canceled due to bad weather conditions.
