Lockheed Martin Wins LCS1, LCS3 Contract

Lockheed Martin Corporation received a USD 13.18 million worth contract modification, which is related to planning yard support efforts for LCS1 and LCS3.

During the contract Lockheed Martin will provide services such as vendor training and crew familiarization, trainer support, availability advanced planning, long lead time material planning and procurement, material warehousing, logistic product updates and class sustainment management.

Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) are a class of relatively small surface vessels intended for operations in the littoral zone, which is the part of a sea that is close to the shore.

Lockheed Martin will perform the work in Washington, D.C. and completion of the work is expected by September 2014.
