US Navy to Christen Fourth Joint High Speed Vessel
KEEL LAYING CEREMONY FOR THE JOINT HIGH SPEED VESSEL FALL RIVER (JHSV 4)

During a ceremony at Mobile, Ala. on January 11th, the US Navy will christen Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV) Fall River being built by Austal USA.

US Navy Secretary, Ray Mabus, who will attend the ceremony, said that the christening of the ship marks the culmination of the hard work, skill and dedication of shipyard workers.

USNS Fall River is the fourth vessel of the Spearhead-Class Joint High Speed Vessels. She is capable of carrying US Army and Marine Corps units with their vehicles.

The 103 meter-long catamaran will also have a flight deck for helicopter operations and a loading ramp, which will allow vehicles to quickly drive on and off the ship.
