Seattle based Vigor Shipyards Inc. has received a USD 33 million contract for repair and alteration of a US Navy ship.

The ship, named USS Moomsen, with a hull number DDG 92, will undergo a docking selected restricted availability, which is primarily aimed at conducting repair and alteration to a ship’s systems and hull.

USS Moomsen is an Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyers, which are designed as multi-role destroyers to fit the Anti-Aircraft Warfare.

The ship repair will be performed in Seattle, Wash and is expected to be completed by October 2014.
