India, Japan Plan Naval Drill

India and Japan are planning to hold a naval exercise near Japan’s coast later this year, according to the New Indian Express.

Indian Defence Minister A. K. Antony on Monday welcomed a visit from his Japanese colleague, Minister Itsunori Onodera in New Delhi.

The ministers discussed defence cooperation between their countries.
They also shared views on issues relating to the “peace, stability and prosperity” of their respective regions.

India and Japan will hold the third and the fourth “2 plus 2” dialogue at the Defence Secretary level in Delhi this year.

The Japanese Defence Minister will stay in Delhi till Wednesday 8th December.
