Atlas Elektronik to Supply Sonar for Royal Thai Navy’s New Frigate

ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH has been commissioned by the Korean yard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Ma- rine Engineering (DSME) with the supply and integration of a bow sonar (ASO) as well as a low- frequency active towed array sonar (ACTAS) for a new frigate of the Royal Thai Navy.


Russia Deploys Aircraft Carriers to Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea

Russian Northern Fleet’s aircraft carriers have deployed to the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea today, as reported by the Russia Beyond the Headlines.   Northern Fleet Captain 1st Rank, Vadim Serga said that the group has deployed to maintain Russian naval presence in crucial parts of the global ocean.

STX Completes Fore Part of Russia’s Second Mistral-Class

The fore part of the second Mistral-class ship under construction for the Russian Navy, LHD Sevastopol (N33), has been completed by the addition of a 440 t block at France-based shipyard STX.   


Delivery of FREMM Virginio FASAN Held at Fincantieri, Italy

The delivery of the Italian FREMM ‘Virginio FASAN’, the first in ASW configuration, was held today at the FINCANTIERI shipyard in Muggiano (La Spezia).   The FASAN was delivered to the Customer with an outstanding state of readiness. All the scheduled complex and meaningful operations were performed in due time.


New Russian Submarine to Enter into Service on Saturday

The new submarine, Alexander Nevsky, is going to enter Russian Navy Service on Saturday, (December 21st, 2013), according to RIA Novosti.   The ceremony will take place at Sevmash shipyard, located in Severodvinsk. Alexander Nevsky is a Russian nuclear ballistic missile submarine of the fourth generation of Borei class.
