Fire aboard Indian Navy Ship

Indian Navy warship INS Konkan caught fire during repair in Vizag on Wednesday, as informed by the Indian Express.   INS Konkan, a Pondicherry class minesweeper acquired from Russia, was undergoing a refit at naval base Vizag when the accident occurred. 


Australian Warships to Change Colour

The Australian Navy will progressively change the colour of its surface fleet to meet modern war-fighting and regional environmental conditions, the Chief of Australian Navy, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs, has announced.


LHD Ship Prepares for Transit to Australia

On Monday, Australia’s second Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) ship departed the Navantia Ferrol Dockyard in Spain for a short trip south to Vigo, where she will be loaded onto the Dockwise Heavy Lift Ship (HLS) Blue Marlin for transit to Australia.

India Puts INS Vikrant on Auction

Indian Defense Ministry is going to put INS Vikrant, a decommissioned aircraft carrier, on auction, according to the Firstpost.com.   The decision was driven by the Maharashtra government’s inability to finance the ship’s maintenance. 


Singapore Orders Two Subs from ThyssenKrupp

ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, a company of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, has signed a contract for the delivery of two submarines of HDW Class 218SG to Singapore.   HDW Class 218SG is a customised design from ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems.
