Cantabria Drops Anchor in Jakarta

From the 15th to the 17th of November, Spanish fleet replenishment ship ‘Cantabria’ called at Tanjunk Priok in Jakarta (Indonesia).

The ship was welcomed by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Spanish Embassy in Jakarta and Indonesian Navy Authorities, who organized a traditional welcoming ceremony at the pier.Cantabria Drops Anchor in Jakarta.2jpg

During the stay in Jakarta the Commanding Officer received the visit of local authorities and other groups to strengthen the bilateral ties. There was also an Open Day for the Spanish colony in that country and for Indonesian civilian and military authorities.

On the 17th the ship departed towards Goa (India) first and then Aksaz (Turkey) before her arrival at Ferrol scheduled for December 21st.

During the visit to the Indonesian capital the crew had the chance of making the most of the leisure and gastronomy opportunities of this vast city

The complement of the ‘Cantabria’ consists of 142 people: 20 officers including a Medical Corps doctor, 23 NCOs, 25 leading seamen and 74 ratings.
