LE Ciara Detains Irish Registered Fishing Vessel

The Naval Coastal Patrol Vessel, LÉ Ciara detained an Irish registered fishing vessel approximately twenty nautucal miles south of the Waterford Coast this afternoon.

The vessel was detained at 1pm for an alleged breach of fishing regulations, this detention is the twelfth detention made by the Naval Service this year following 901 boardings.

The fishing vessel has now hauled its nets and is currently under escort by the LÉ Ciara to Cobh. The vessel will be handed over to the Gardaí.
