Ukraine Hosts Sea Breeze 2014 Planning Conference

Sea Breeze 2014 planning conference was held in Odesa, Ukraine. The event was attended by Deputy Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Volodymyr Khyzhy, Leader of the U.S. Delegation U.S. Navy Capt. 1st Rank John Mosher and Leader of the Ukrainian Working Group of the Ukrainian Navy Capt. 1st Rank Igor Terekhin, and representatives of other invited countries.

Lieutenant General Volodymyr Khyzhy stressed how the experience of planning and conducting peacekeeping exercises contributed much to the peacekeeping and the stability in various regions of the world, as well as navigation security in the crisis areas.

 ”The International Sea Breeze exercises are important and large-scale. I guess their topic meets the current problems of the Ukrainian Navy, modern challenges and threats, these exercises induce security and stability process in the Black Sea area,” noted Lieutenant General Volodymyr Khyzhy.

Leader of the Ukrainian Working Group of the Ukrainian Navy Capt. 1st Rank Igor Terekhin informed that this time actions of counter-mining forces will be worked out.

 “Considering the experience of previous Sea Breeze, I’m sure that joint sea, air, land cooperation contributes much to the enhancement of the professional level of the Ukrainian Navy servicemen,” mentioned Capt. 1st Rank Igor Terekhin.
