Sri Lanka Navy Arrests 15 Indian Fishermen

Naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command on routine patrol arrested 15 Indian fishermen who were poaching in Sri Lankan Waters on 15th October 2013.

The arrested fishermen were handed over to the Assistant Director of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resource in Jaffna for legal action.

Meanwhile naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command arrested 22 Indian fishermen and 5 trawlers engaged in illegal fishing in Sri Lankan Waters off Thalaimannar on 15thOctober 2013. The arrested fishermen were handed over to Thalaimannar Police for legal action.
