Australian Navy Personnel Get Honours from Governor General

The Royal Australian Navy would like to congratulate the following personnel who were awarded honours by Her Excellency the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, during a series of Investiture Ceremonies held at Government House, Canberra, last week:

Appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the Military Division (AM)

Commander Evan Paul DAVIES, CSM For Exceptional Service as a Joint Operational Planner at Headquarters Joint Operations Command in support of operations in Afghanistan from January 2007 to December 2012.

Awarded the Conspicuous Service Medal (CSM):

Lieutenant Commander Alexander GIBBS For meritorious achievement as Staff Officer Grade 2 Operations in Headquarters Northern Command in support of border protection operations.

Captain Jennifer WITTWER For meritorious devotion to duty as the Royal Australian Navy Strategic Women’s Adviser.

Awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross (CSC):

Commander Rachel DURBIN For outstanding devotion to duty as the Royal Australian Navy Category Manager for Technical Officers and Sailors in the Directorate of Navy Category Management.

Commander David GRAHAM For outstanding devotion to duty as the Executive Officer, HMAS Creswell.

Additionally, The Royal Australian Navy extends its congratulations to the following retired member:

Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division (OAM) Lieutenant Commander Peter McNAY For service to the veteran community.
