Russian Warships Need to Be Built under Unified Terms to Avoid Delays

 

Construction of warships must be carried out under unified contracts including the cost of their weapons systems to ensure their prompt delivery on budget to the Russian Navy, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said. 


Greater Presence of Russian Warships in the Med amid Airstrikes against Syria

 

Two Russian Navy warships, an anti-submarine ship and a guided-missile cruiser, have been sent to the Mediterranean Sea amid announced airstrikes of the West against Syria, Reuters reported. 


US Navy to Commission Its 10th Virginia Class Submarine

 

The Navy is scheduled to commission its 10th Virginia-class attack submarine Sept. 7, during a pierside ceremony at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Va. During a formal ceremony to be attended by several hundred dignitaries, families and crew members, Pre-Commissioning Unit Minnesota (SSN 783) will officially become USS Minnesota and join the Navy’s active fleet.

Russia is sending three more ships to the Mediterranean Sea to boost fleet near Syria, according to Bloomberg.


Syria: US Navy Destroyer Returns from Mediterranean Sea

 

The US Navy destroyer USS Mahan is heading home from the Mediterranean Sea, according to the News Channel 3. USS Mahan, which had been deployed for 8 months and positioned near Syria, changed course yesterday. The destroyer is said to be set to return to Hampton Roads this week. 


Russian MoD Criticizes Deployment of US Warships in Mediterranean

 

Russian Ministry of Defense has criticized deployment of US warships in the Mediterranean Sea, as reported by CCTV. A defense official from Russia said that the deployment would intensify the situation in the region.
