Russia Warns US, Sends More Ships to Mediterranean Sea

Russia is sending three more ships to the Mediterranean Sea to boost fleet near Syria, according to Bloomberg.

The deployed ships are two destroyers, including the Nastoichivy, the flagship of the Baltic Fleet, and the Moskva missile cruiser, which will join reconnaissance ship Priazovye, deployed to the area on Sunday “to gather current information of the escalating conflict”, Interfax informed.

Even though the Russian President Vladimir Putin has not completely ruled out approving a military operation in Syria should evidence confirm usage of chemical weapons in Damascus, he warned the U.S. and its allies against a unilateral action against Syria on Wednesday, the NBCNews reported.

Putin also said that acting without the approval of the U.N. Security Council “can only be interpreted as an aggression.”
