Naval Institute at SLNS Barana Declared Open

The newly-built Naval Institute at SLNS Barana in Mullikulum was declared open by Secretary of Defence and Urban Development, Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa on 27th August 2013.

Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Navy Seva Vanitha Unit President, Mrs. Srima Colombage and Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dayananda Nanayakkara were also present on the occasion.

Naval Institutes are constructed under the concept of the Secretary of Defence to improve the facilities of naval personnel in all naval commands. The facility, constructed with the aim of providing better recreational facilities for senior and junior naval personnel, is located in a scenic surroundings and equipped with all amenities to conduct a multitude of social functions.
